that if either Army or Navy can beat Notre Dame, then run the table, they will be playing for the National Championship.

What could also be wild is they play for the American championship and then turn around and play each other again the next week.

No, if you are the final two, you are playing for the national championship.
Nope 1000% wrong. Again, if you are one of any of the 12 in the playoffs....you most certainly are playing for the National Championship. If what you say were true, then there would only be a 2 team playoff at the end of the season. Would make it a much simpler selection process for sure.....who are the top 2 teams and select them to play. Why would the other 10 even play if selected.

You could have just said "I'm a dubmass" and saved some keystrokes.

They can’t do that. It’s against the rules now a days to allow the triple option to play for a national championship..

By that logic every FBS team is playing for the national championship, since regular season success is what gets you into the 12.

Well, we were still technically still playing for the National Championship going in to week 3 I guess, as were many others so why limit it to 12 contenders?

Just making the playoffs does NOT equal playing for the national championship. You made the tournament. Hang a banner, sure, but you didn’t play for the national championship. That’s like saying every one of our basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball, soccer, tennis, and golf teams has played for a national championship because they made the NCAA tournament once.
