Jackson (Ala.) four-star 2026 cornerback Jamarrion Gordon has flipped his commitment from Alabama to UCF, he told On3’s Hayes Fawcett on Friday.

Gordon had been committed to the Crimson Tide since May 18, when he chose them over Auburn, Florida and more than a dozen other reported offers.

He was Alabama’s first commitment in the 2026 class for Kalen DeBoer and Co., and was quickly followed by four-star cornerback Dorian Barney, who committed the next day.

Now though, Barney is the one member of the Tide’s class. Meanwhile, he becomes the second 2026 pledge for Gus Malzahn, joining wide receiver Keeyun Chapman, a high school teammate of Gordon’s who committed in May.

The 6-foot, 175-pounder is the No. 254 overall prospect in the 2025 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power wrote this about him as a prospect back in May following his first commitment:

“Jamarrion Gordon is a well-rounded, versatile defensive back. He’s capable of lining up at a couple of different spots in the defense. We’ve seen him line up as an outside corner and as a nickel for his high school team on Friday nights. I think that versatility projects over to the college level. He’s active. I think he’s a quick trigger to the ball. Closes quickly. His ability to break on passes really stands out, especially for a sophomore defensive back. I think his physicality stands out as well. He does not shy away from contact; actually seeks out contact and works to bring down ball carriers.

… He’s physical off the line of scrimmage as well. We saw that a little bit in the camp setting. He does not shy away from using his hands to reroute bigger receivers and tight ends. I think just that willingness for physicality, contact, and that aggressive mentality definitely shows up on his sophomore film and the camp setting as well.”
