Four-Star ATH Aeryn Hampton flips to Alabama

Four-star athlete Aeryn Hampton of Daingerfield (TX) High flipped his commitment to Alabama Wednesday afternoon.

The 5-foot-11, 185 pounder had been committed to the Longhorns since July.

“The development coach Saban has on players and the program means a lot to my decision,” Hampton said. “I feel like that was the best choice for me.”

Aeryn Hampton Recruiting Profile 

Hampton ranks as the No. 232 player according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also tabs in as the No. 10 athlete and the No. 41 player in the state of Texas.

“Aeryn Hampton did it all for Daingerfield (Texas) High School in 2022. He finished his junior season with 55 receptions for 1,161 yards and 13 touchdowns. He also racked up 57 tackles, five tackles for loss, three interceptions, three fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles. Hampton also excelled on special teams with 11 returns for 260 yards and a score. Those numbers helped him earn second-team all-state honors in 2022. Midway through his junior season, Hampton reportedly transferred to nearby Carthage High School. Hampton also runs track and plays basketball. His favorite musician is NBA YoungBoy. He plans on majoring in welding in college. His mother is Lisa Boyd.”
