News broke Tuesday that Agiye Hall was no longer listed on the Alabama football roster. Wednesday, Nick Saban made it official: He’s suspended for a violation of team rules.
Saban met the media and confirmed the decision. He didn’t go into detail, but made it clear it’s a suspension.
“He is suspended from the team for violations of some team rules, whether they’re academic or whatever, it doesn’t really matter,” Saban said, via AL.com’s Mike Rodak. “Everybody has a responsibility and obligation to respect the principles and values.”
A reporter later asked Saban what it would take for Hall to earn his way back onto the team, and Saban answered before the question finished.
“He already had that opportunity once, so I don’t know what his plans are for the future,” Saban said.

More on the Agiye Hall situation
Tuesday, Charlie Potter of 247Sports’ BamaOnline reported Hall was no longer listed on Alabama’s official roster and Bama Insider reported he was no longer with the program. As of Wednesday night, Hall still wasn’t listed.
Shortly after those reports came out Tuesday, he reacted on Twitter.
“News to me, but fs (for sure),” Hall wrote on Tuesday.
Hall just wrapped up his first season at Alabama and he practiced with the team this spring. He came to Tuscaloosa out of St. Louis, Missouri. He was a four-star wideout and the fourth-ranked wide receiver in the 2021 recruiting class according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average.
With Hall’s future unclear, Alabama will need to find a way to replicate a lot of lost talent on offense. At receiver, Jameson Williams, John Metchie, and Slade Bolden have all entered the 2022 NFL Draft. Hall was a candidate for more involvement in the offense this season, but it now appears that won’t be the case.
As a freshman last season, Hall caught four passes for 72 yards, averaging 18 yards per reception.
