AJ McCarron hasn’t had a chance to truly relive his glory days in quite some time. However, he did exactly that today in his XFL debut with the Saint Louis Battlehawks.

With his team down against San Antonio, he helped them score twice in the final two minutes. That included this 19-yard touchdown throw with under 20 seconds left to give McCarron and St. Louis the 18-15 win over the Brahmas.

McCarron finished 18-26 passing on the day. That went for 190 yards and a pair of touchdowns as he completed 10 straight passes to end the game. In the end, it was the kind of performance that head coach Anthony Becht said reminded him of McCarron’s time down in Tuscaloosa.

“That’s a helluva moment for him,” said Becht. “He hasn’t had a drive like that since ‘Bama. I love it.”

This might be just the start for McCarron in this new opportunity. It’s so far, so good for him in this new venture after today with his team winning their first-ever game.

WATCH: Nick Saban, Herb Jones take in Alabama’s home game against Georgia

Coleman Coliseum got to take in the No. 1 team in the country on Saturday. Alabama was playing host to the Georgia Bulldogs and is currently en route to another blowout win against an SEC opponent. Head coach Nate Oats had his team ready to play following a loss to Tennessee.

A few special guests were in attendance, with Nick Saban making an appearance. He was accompanied by his wife Terry for their second basketball game of the season. A noted supporter of the program, there might not have been a bigger name in the crowd.

The great Herb Jones made his way back to Tuscaloosa as well. Currently playing for the New Orleans Pelicans, the NBA is paused at the moment for the All-Star break. No better way to spend some time off than coming home to catch a game with Mom.
