Alabama linebacker Christopher Allen missed most of the 2021 season with a foot injury and was unable to participate in the NFL Combine or Alabama Pro Day during the rehab process. However, the talented but oft-injured pass rusher worked out for NFL teams on Wednesday, according to The Athletic’s Dane Brugler.

The former four-star recruit had a breakout junior year in 2020 and promised to improve his stock during the 2021 campaign before an injury cut his college career short. Now, as Christopher Allen prepares for the NFL Draft, he is again healthy enough to showcase his physical attributes and football IQ.

At the pre-draft event, which comes just over two weeks away from the first round, Allen participated in several standard measurement drills as well.

He finished the day with a 4.77-second 40-yard dash with a 1.64-second 10-yard split, also adding a 37-inch vertical jump with a 10-foot-2 broad jump.

During his junior year, Allen totaled 37 tackles with six sacks, as well as 13 tackles for loss to rank first in the SEC. He also forced one fumble and recovered two throughout the season. In 2021, he recorded three tackles, a tackle for a loss, a sack, and a forced fumble in his one appearance.

Christopher Allen pens farewell

Prior to his departure from Alabama to the NFL Draft, Christopher Allen penned a farewell note to the staff and head coach Nick Saban.

“Coach Saban, I want to thank you for giving me the opportunity to play football at the University of Alabama,” the statement read. “The moment I stepped on campus, you began teaching me lessons not only on the field, but off. The lessons you taught me are going to continue to help me be successful in playing and in life.”

Allen was originally a member of the 2017 recruiting class and was a four-star prospect according to the On3 Consensus. He was ranked the No. 5 player to come out of the state of Louisiana, an area Saban has been able to find talent out of during his Alabama tenure.
