Report: Alabama running back away from team, removed from student directory
According to Chris Hummer of 247Sports, Alabama Crimson Tide running back Camar Wheaton is no longer listed in Alabama’s student directory and has been away from the team. Wheaton has only been with the program for one season, being a member of the 2021 recruiting class.
Running back has been a position of depth for years under Nick Saban. However, the room became too crowded when Georgia Tech’s Jahmyr Gibbs transferred into the program. Jase McClellan and Trey Sanders featured for Alabama this season as well and will be returning next season.
Coming out of high school, Wheaton was a four-star prospect according to the On3 Consensus. He was the No. 4 running back in the class and ranked as the No. 8 recruit from the state of Texas.
Wheaton announced a top three school list before his senior season of high school, with LSU and Oklahoma joining Alabama. After the year ended, he trimmed it down to just the Crimson Tide and Sooners.
Alabama brought in an additional two running backs in the 2022 recruiting class. Four-star Jamarion Miller was a late edition to the class — being from the Lone State state as well. Four-star Emmanuel Henderson will join as all-purpose prospect as well.

Currently, the biggest need the giants have remaining is to land their head coach. And one of the coaches New York has in mind, Brian Flores might already have a potential running mate for their other need at offensive coordinator.
According to Giants reporter Art Stapleton, there is one big name attached to Flores if New York were to land him as their new head coach, Bill O’Brien.
“One name I’ve heard mentioned as an OC possibility if Brian Flores were to land as head coach with Giants: Bill O’Brien. Not the only choice, obviously, and no guarantee that it would happen, but names are always fun. And OC is absolutely a big part of Flores’ candidacy imo,” wrote Stapleton on Twitter.
O’Brien has been with the Crimson Tide for just one season. He helped quarterback Bryce Young win the Heisman Trophy but garnered some negative comments during Alabama’s two losses on the season for his red zone efficiency.
