Report: Alabama set to host transfer wide receiver Tyler Harrell this weekend
Louisville transfer Tyler Harrell is expected to visit Alabama this weekend, according to multiple reports. The incoming junior entered the transfer portal earlier this week after spending two seasons on the field with the Cardinals.
The six-foot, 194-pound wide receiver averaged 29.1 yards per catch last season on just 18 receptions. Harrell finished with a total of 523 yards and six touchdowns, with all but one of his scores coming against conference opponents. Before the 2021 season, Harrell had only appeared in four games, split between 2018 and 2019. He did not see game action during the 2020 season.
Harrell was ranked a three-star prospect coming out of Columbus High School in Miami. He ranked as the No. 125 player from his home state of Florida. According to the On3 transfer portal rankings, Harrell ranks as the No. 111 wide receiver in this year’s transfer portal cycle. Thanks to his speed, coaches will be lining up to talk to the now-former Louisville player.

Steen is a former three-star recruit in the 2018 recruiting class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average. He took a number of visits after he entered the transfer portal, including Kentucky, Alabama, NC State, LSU, UCLA, and Virginia. His finalists were reportedly Alabama, LSU, Virginia, and Kentucky.
Steen brings experience to Alabama’s offensive line that lost both of its starting tackles (Evan Neal, Chris Owens) to the 2022 NFL Draft. He started 32 games at Vanderbilt over the past three seasons and has two years of eligibility remaining. Steen was the tenth rated offensive tackle in the On3 transfer portal rankings.
