Alabama defensive back Jake Pope enters transfer portal

Alabama Crimson Tide defensive back Jake Pope has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal.

Jake Pope has been with the Crimson Tide for two seasons. He took a redshirt during the 2022 season, not seeing any game action. He then got his first game action during the 2023 season, mostly playing on special teams for Alabama.

By the end of his time with Alabama, Jake Pope saw action in 11 different games. However, he did not record a tackle during that time.

Jake Pope played high school football at Buford (GA), where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 315 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

The team that lands Jake Pope is going to get a highly-touted defensive back recruit who has spent two seasons getting coached in the Alabama program. He will join his new team with three seasons’ worth of eligibility remaining in his college career.
