Alabama DL LT Overton announces return for 2025 season
Alabama defensive lineman LT Overton will return for the 2025 season, he announced Wednesday via his Instagram page. Overton transferred to the Crimson Tide this past season after two years with Texas A&M and the upcoming season will be his final year of eligibility.
Overton appeared in all 13 games in 2024 to finish with 42 total tackles (three for loss), two sacks, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery. His return is certainly welcome news for an Alabama team that finished 9-4 this past season and is coming off of a loss in the ReliaQuest Bowl to Michigan.
“The journey towards success that has been paved at Alabama by the guys before me is not over,” Overton wrote. “I am excited to take on challenges and I am always looking to provide leadership. I am also committed to working hard to achieve the goals that I share with my teammates.
“As the late Kobe Bryant would say — ‘Job’s not finished!’ In fact, this is just the beginning. 2025 will be a time for action. This is my official announcement — I am returning for my senior year. Roll Tide, Roll!”

Overton played in 23 games across the first two seasons of his college career at Texas A&M. He ended his time in College Station with 48 total tackles (three for loss) and one sack.
As a recruit, Overton was a four-star prospect out of Milton (GA) High School. He ranked as the No. 12 overall player and No. 4 defensive lineman in the cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
With his return, Overton will not only get another chance to lead Alabama to a College Football Playoff, but also have a chance to improve his NFL Draft stock. We’ll see what’s in store for his final season of college football, but Crimson Tide fans have to be excited with this news.
