Alabama EDGE Jeremiah Alexander has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal on Friday, according to On3’s Pete Nakos.

After missing the first three games of the season with an injury, Alexander appeared in just four games this season as a backup inside linebacker for the Crimson Tide. In those four games, Alexander had one solo tackle and three assisted tackles. His one solo tackle came against South Carolina on October 12.

After redshirting his freshman season, Alexander made consistent appearances for Alabama in the 2023 campaign. Alexander began his redshirt freshman season at inside linebacker but quickly moved to the outside.

Alexander was a five-star prospect at Alabaster (Ala.) Thompson High, where he was the No. 1 ranked EDGE in the 2022 class, as well as the top player in the state and the No. 15 overall recruit, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Despite his lack of playing experience, Alexander was widely viewed as a future star in the middle of Alabama’s defense and likely would have seen more on-field opportunities in 2025 with the pending losses of starters Deontae Lawson and Jihaad Campbell to the NFL this offseason.

Alexander is the 18th Crimson Tide player to enter the transfer portal since the end of the regular season, joining defensive backs Devonta Smith (Notre Dame) and Jahlil Hurley (Kansas), defensive linemen Jeheim Oatis (Colorado), Hunter Osborne (Virginia) and Damon Payne (Michigan), linebackers Keanu Koht (Vanderbilt) and Braylon Chatman (uncommitted), offensive linemen Naquil Betrand (Syracuse) and Miles McVay (North Carolina), quarterback Dylan Lonergan (Boston College), running back Justice Haynes (Michigan), and receivers Emmanuel Henderson (Kansas), Amari Jefferson (uncommitted), Kendrick Law (Kentucky), Caleb Odom (Ole Miss) and Kobe Prentice (Baylor).
