Alabama football announces list of guest speakers for coaching clinic
Alabama football has announced a star-studded list of guest speakers for its upcoming coaches clinic, which will take place April 7-9 on campus in Tuscaloosa. Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel headlines the list, which also features Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy, Baylor coach Dave Aranda, former LSU and New Orleans Saints special teams coordinator Greg McMahon and renowned sports psychologist Dr. Kevin Elko.
Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban will host the clinic, which is open to high school coaches only. It will include a Chalk Talk with the entire coaching staff, as well as individual sessions with Alabama special teams and outside linebackers coach Coleman Hutzler, corners coach Travaris Robinson, offensive line coach Eric Wolford and tight ends coach Joe Cox.
The cost of the Alabama football coaches clinic is $60, and attendees will need to bring either their high school coaches card or a letter of verification from their school. Those interested can register in advance through Alabama’s website, and on-site registration will also be offered the day of the clinic.
Vrabel played 14 years as a linebacker in the NFL, winning three Super Bowls as a member of the New England Patriots. After that, he got his start in coaching at his alma mater of Ohio State before making the jump to the NFL as linebackers coach of the Houston Texans in 2014. He became the head coach of the Titans in 2018, and has amassed a 41-24 record since while leading them to the playoffs each of the past three seasons.

Both Gundy and Aranda are coming off of spectacular seasons in the Big 12, where they competed against each other for the conference championship. Baylor claimed a 21-16 victory over the Cowboys in that one, coming up with a goal-line stop on fourth down to secure the win. Gundy is the longest-tenured coach in the Big 12 and second-longest in all of college football behind Iowa’s Kirk Ferentz. He is also the winningest coach in Oklahoma State history with 149 career victories.
The clinic will be an opportunity for both Gundy and Aranda to learn a thing or two from Saban, as well as network with high school coaches. Likewise, the coaches attending the clinic will certainly learn plenty of valuable lessons from this star-studded list of guest speakers.
