Favour Edwin

Alabama is trending to add a fourth offensive lineman to its 2024 recruiting class, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM).

A decision has been on the horizon for McDonough (Ga.) Eagle’s Landing Christian three-star offensive tackle Favour Edwin for some time. Now, the 6-foot-8, 290-pounder is down to the Crimson Tide, Auburn and Florida.

Throughout most of the fall, it was the Tigers that were trending to land Edwin’s pledge. Following an official visit to Tuscaloosa on Dec. 8, however, Nick Saban and Co. now find themselves in pole position for the trench monster.

Over the last 48 hours, four recruiting insiders have logged RPM predictions in favor of Edwin pledging to the Crimson Tide. Bama now has an 80.7% chance to land the tackle, while Auburn is behind at 17.5%.

Ahead of his visit to Alabama last weekend, Edwin held an in-home visit with Tide OL coach Eric Wolford. The two have developed a good relationship throughout his recruitment.

“It’s always great chopping it up with him,” Edwin told BamaOnLine. “Coach Wolford, he’s a funny guy who is going to coach you up. I’m just excited about being able to talk with him. Every time, I learn and get more wisdom from him. We’ve talked about how far I’ve come and how much better I’ve gotten. Every time I talk with Coach Wolf, it’s a great thing.”

Alabama looking to add Edwin to top-three recruiting class

Edwin is the No. 629 overall prospect and No. 39 OT in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 71 player in Georgia.

If he were to pledge to the Crimson Tide, Edwin would become the fourth OL in the class. Headlining the room is Lindale (Texas) four-star interior offensive lineman Casey Poe, the No. 79 overall recruit and the top-ranked OL in the cycle. He’s currently joined by Brookwood (Ala.) four-star IOL William Sanders and Clearwater (Fla.) Calvary Christian three-star IOL Joseph Ionata.

Alabama’s class currently ranks No. 3 in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. The pledge list features 21 commits, as of Dec. 14. Three five-stars highlight the class: Carlsbad (Calif.) Five-Star Plus+ quarterback Julian Sayin, Saraland (Ala.) Five-Star Plus+ wide receiver Ryan Williams and Pinson (Ala.) Clay-Chalkville five-star athlete Jaylen Mbakwe.
