Alabama is in the hunt for multiple prospects to cap off its top-three 2024 recruiting class ahead of National Signing Day.

Among those still on the Crimson Tide’s big board, Kansas City Liberty North four-star EDGE Jayshawn Ross is among the highest-ranked. The No. 212 overall prospect and No. 21 EDGE in the On3 Industry Ranking took an official visit to Tuscaloosa on Nov. 3.

On Thursday, Alabama recruiting insider Andrew Bone logged a pick in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) for Ross in favor of the Crimson Tide, accompanying it with a 70% confidence level.

Heading into the fall, Nebraska was viewed as the frontrunner for the 6-foot-3, 220-pounder. That was until an announcement that Ross was re-opening his recruitment, allowing Kansas State to step into pole position for the blue-chipper.

“I would like to thank all the schools who have been recruiting me,” Ross wrote. “I am both thankful and humbled by their recruitment. With that being said, my family and I would like to announce that I am re-opening my recruitment. I’m looking forward to finding the best place to continue my academic and athletic career.”

Signs pointed toward the Wildcats throughout the fall, but then Alabama got involved. The Crimson Tide offered Ross in October, then got him to campus for an official visit to kick off November. Now, the arrow is headed in the direction of Tuscaloosa.

“Obviously, we all know that it’s a great school,” Ross told BamaOnLine ahead of his OV. “Greatest coach of all time. So, it’s something to be proud of. It means I’m doing something right. Been expected, but that’s where we are with that. Earlier in the process, I knew I had some things to work on. I feel like I’ve got those things improved, and now I’m seeing the results of that.”

Alabama’s class currently ranks No. 3 in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. The pledge list features 21 commits, as of Dec. 14. Three five-stars highlight the class: Carlsbad (Calif.) Five-Star Plus+ quarterback Julian Sayin, Saraland (Ala.) Five-Star Plus+ wide receiver Ryan Williams and Pinson (Ala.) Clay-Chalkville five-star athlete Jaylen Mbakwe. If Ross were to pledge to the Crimson Tide, he would become the 12th top-300 prospect in the fold.

Ross has an On3 NIL Valuation of $66K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
