Alabama insider logs prediction for Crimson Tide to land 4-star EDGE Noah Carter
Tuscaloosa took a collective sigh of relief on Wednesday, as Saraland (Ala.) Five-Star Plus+ wide receiver Ryan Williams — the No. 5 prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking — re-pledged to Alabama.
The addition of Williams is a landmark recruiting win for Kalen DeBoer as he settles in as Nick Saban’s successor. Bama’s 2024 class has taken some hits since the departure of the Hall of Fame head coach, but DeBoer showcased his ability to help land top talent. Another commitment could be on the way, too.
Peoria (Ariz.) Centennial four-star EDGE Noah Carter was one of DeBoer’s top prospects in Washington’s 2024 recruiting class. Carter was released from his National Letter of Intent with the Huskies on Jan. 18 and immediately set up an official visit to T-Town.
Now, a reunitement of sorts could be on the horizon. On Thursday, Alabama recruiting insider Andrew Bone logged a pick in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) in favor of the Tide landing the 6-foot-4, 220-pounder. The Crimson Tide now have a 78.8% edge and could be in line to add their second EDGE rusher to the fold in the 2024 cycle.
“Coach DeBoer is one of the best coaches in the country, if not the best,” Carter told BamaOnLine on Jan. 16. “Everyone is going to kinda figure it out, but he’s just a down-to-earth guy. He knows and loves football just like the staff he has.”

The addition of Carter would be far more than DeBoer simply bringing over one of his signees from Washington. He now ranks as the No. 127 overall prospect and No. 14 EDGE in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 3 player in Arizona.
“Really just sitting down with my family and just seeing what’s the best fit for me like I said,” Carter told On3’s Chad Simmons following his decommitment from Washington. “That’s really the most important thing. Really, right now is just seeing what fits best for me scheme-wise and just the culture and community around the school.”
Carter has an On3 NIL Valuation of $61K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
