Jordan Battle talks about his relationship with Bryce Young

Alabama quarterback Bryce Young is on plenty of NFL radars as the possible QB1 in the 2023 NFL Draft, and for good reason. But it’s what the teams may not know about him that some fans will find interesting.
Namely, Young is pretty funny behind closed doors, despite the business-like persona he carries publicly.
“I’d say he’s a smooth dude, cool dude,” Alabama defensive back Jordan Battle said. “A lot of people don’t know he’s funny. He’s a funny guy. I was just talking to him yesterday that a lot of people don’t know how funny you are because he doesn’t really express it.”
The 2021 Heisman Trophy winner has plenty of accolades to his name and he’s got more than enough game film for NFL teams to pore over and make their decisions with.
But at the NFL Combine it’s often the little personality quirks that can make or break a team’s confidence in you as their selection.
To that end, Battle’s comments about his teammate on the opposite side of the ball should certainly help cement Bryce Young’s NFL Draft position near the very top this year.

“Like behind closed doors he’s a funny guy,” Battle said. “He’s very, very open to his teammates. He always invites us over to his apartment just to have some bonding time, grow relationships on and off the field. So I’d describe him as a cool guy.”

The 2023 NFL Draft is set to take place from Thursday, April 27 through Saturday, April 29 in Kansas City, Missouri. The event will be held at the plaza just outside of Union Station.
Round 1 of the NFL Draft is set to begin at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday, Apr. 27. Rounds 2-3 will begin at 7 p.m. ET on Friday, Apr. 28, and Rounds 4-7 will begin at 12 p.m. ET on Saturday, Apr. 29. The draft will be broadcasted throughout the weekend on both ESPN and NFL Network.
To be eligible for the NFL Draft, players must be at least three years removed from their final year of high school while having used up their collegiate eligibility. Underclassmen are able to request league approval to become eligible for the draft, as are players who have graduated prior to using up all of their collegiate eligibility. 100 underclassmen were approved for last year’s draft. 73 of those 100 underclassmen were granted special eligibility while 27 of them were underclassmen who had completed their college degrees.
The 2023 NFL scouting combine will take place from Feb. 28 through March 6 in Indianapolis.
