Alabama kicker Reed Harradine enters transfer portal after being named in hit-and-run lawsuit
Alabama kicker Reed Harradine has entered the NCAA transfer portal, according to On3’s Pete Nakos.
Harradine spent just one season with the Crimson Tide following his transfer portal decision, which follows a pending lawsuit for a hit-and-run crash he was involved in last October that injured another man in Tuscaloosa.
According to the lawsuit, Harradine’s 2016 GMC Sierra crashed into his driver’s side door and rear quarter panel of the vehicle of Timothy Moore on October 1, 2023 after he failed to yield Moore’s green light when turning left from Jack Warner Parkway to Hackberry Lane. Resulting in Moore’s airbags deploying and an ambulance taking him to DCH Regional Medical Center.
The suit also stated that Harradine left the scene of the collision and refused to speak to University of Alabama police officers the night of the incident. With Harradine admitting to driving the Sierra at the time of the crash the following day.
“Mr. Moore’s attorneys are attempting to damage our son’s reputation to promote their law firm,” Attorneys for the Harradine family said in a statement. “It is shameful that the lawyers for Mr. Moore would try the case in the media. It is unusual, if not unheard of, for a law firm to hold a press conference regarding a traffic collision.”
“We disagree with allegations suggesting Mr. Moore was seriously injured in the collision. We all look forward to presenting a vigorous defense in a court room,” the statement concluded.

Harradine did not see any game action for Alabama in his lone season with the Crimson Tide after joining the team as a preferred walk on in 2023. He was a part of Alabama’s open competition at kicker this spring, but being the defendant in a pending lawsuit will surely add a wrinkle to his college football future.
Harradine played high school football at Mountain Brook High School in Birmingham (AL) where he was an unrated, unranked recruit in the 2023 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
