Alabama lands 11 on NFL draft combine invite list
On Wednesday, the NFL released its entire list of players who received formal invites to participate in the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine. The combine, set to take place at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on March 1-7, will feature 11 former Alabama stars. The Crimson Tide’s list includes six underclassmen who opted to declare early.
In total, there will be five offensive and six defensive players representing Bama at the combine. All in all, a total of 324 prospects received invitations to attend this year’s combine.
The Georgia Bulldogs landed a nationwide high of 14 invites for former players in this year’s combine. Behind the national champs in the invite count are Alabama and Oklahoma with 11. Last year, it was Ohio State that led the nation’s top programs with 14 invitees, followed by Alabama, Georgia, and Notre Dame with 11 each.

Mock Projections
Evan Neal is projected to be the highest-drafted player out of Tuscaloosa. In fact, he could be selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars with the No. 1 overall player. It’s a franchise that is in desperate need of more protection for quarterback Trevor Lawrence. Plus, the Jags have former Alabama offensive tackle, Cam Robinson, entering free agency this offseason.

At this time, the only other first-round projection for the Crimson Tide is Jameson Williams. Despite tearing his ACL in the national title game against Georgia, the Ohio State transfer is one of the top pass-catchers available. He hauled in 79 receptions for 1,572 yards and 15 scores this past season.
Should the Alabama standouts need another opportunity to wow scouts after the draft combine, the Alabama Pro Day will be in late March.
The 2022 NFL Draft starts on April 28-30 in Paradise (Nev.).
