Alabama lands JUCO transfer Nick Pringle
Nick Pringle, a 6-foot-9, 220-pound power forward out of Seabrook (S.C.) Dodge City C.C. has committed to Alabama basketball for the class of 2022, he tells On3.
Pringle played his freshman year at Wofford where he averaged just 2.0 points and 2.1 rebounds per game before transferring to Dodge City C.C. in Kansas. “The thing I learned at JUCO is basically getting out of habits,” Pringle told 247Sports in a previous interview. “My first week here I settled in pretty quickly. Dodge City is pretty different from where I’m from. Here it’s very grassy, a lot of cows, and you basically see the same thing every day. I took that as an advantage to get out of habits to work harder and do the things I didn’t do, just the little things to better myself as a person.”
Since his time at Dodge City C.C., Nick Pringle picked up offers from Mississippi State, Arizona State, West Virginia, Georgia, Ole Miss, and of course, Alabama.
Pringle will have three years of eligibility remaining. He joins an already loaded 2022 Alabama recruiting class that features five stars Brandon Miller and Jaden Bradley, along with four-star Noah Clowney.

Alabama’s system made the decision clear
“We started off the process and I had about 17 schools so I just started narrowing it down based on coaching staffs and playing style,” Pringle said. “I just tried to narrow it down to how I like things. I didn’t want to be in a system where they play two bigs with their back to the basket. I wanted a system that allowed me to get used to the NBA-style system because that’s where I want to be ultimately…I wasn’t really focusing on the name of the school but I was just looking into more details like academics, players that I may play with, just things like that. I feel like I could fit in any type of system but I just wanted this specific type of system because it would be good for me in the long run.”
How does Pringle describe his game?
“I feel like I’m a very versatile player,” Pringle said. “I’m a 6-foot-10 guy with bounce that can guard one through five. I feel like I bring a lot to the table. I have a great passing ability. I’m great with my teammates. I’m a vocal leader. I’m a great rebounder. I just play with high energy…I feel like this Alabama team right here, I can go the longest way with so that’s why this is the perfect fit.”
