Alabama offensive lineman Elijah Pritchett plans to enter NCAA transfer portal
Alabama offensive lineman Elijah Pritchett plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, per On3’s Hayes Fawcett. He spent three seasons with the Crimson Tide and will have two years of eligibility remaining after redshirting as a true freshman.
During the 2024 season, Pritchett played in all 12 games, including 10 of which he started at right tackle. During the season, Pritchett was named to the Outland Trophy Watch List and even was named an Outland Player of the Week after beating Wisconsin.
In 2023, Pritchett appeared in 13 games as a reserve offensive tackle and on special teams. The 6-foot-6, 312 pound offensive lineman proved himself a valuable asset off the bench as he helped lead Alabama to a 12-2 record and appearance in the College Football Playoff.
As a recruit, Pritchett was a four-star prospect out of Carver High School in Columbus, Georgia. He ranked as the No. 34 overall player and No. 4 offensive tackle in the 2022 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Alabama’s first year under DeBoer
The Crimson Tide just wrapped up the 2024 season, which is the first under head coach Kalen DeBoer. Alabama posted a 9-3 record in the regular season, which not only left it out of the SEC title game, but also on the outside looking in for the College Football Playoff.

Ultimately, Alabama was left out and ended up playing in the ReliaQuest Bowl vs. the Michigan Wolverines. That ended in a 19-13 win for Michigan and brought a sour ending to the first year of the DeBoer era.
While it is early, DeBoer is believed to be in trouble at Alabama by analyst and radio host Paul Finebaum. On Get Up on Wednesday, Finebaum explained more.
“It was a mess and Alabama fans with whom I’ve been in contact with since yesterday are hopping mad,” Finebaum said. “A lot of the good that he did early in the season went out the window. People will talk about ‘is he in trouble,’ and he’s not in trouble for his job but let me make it clear, the goodwill is gone for him. He enters a very critical season next year because I firmly believe he’s on a scorching hot seat. Doesn’t mean he’ll get fired but he’s gonna undergo a great deal of pressure next year.”
