New Rochelle (N.Y.) Iona Preparatory School four-star cornerback Ellis Robinson IV received an offer Wednesday from defending national champion Alabama.

The On3 Consensus – a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies – rates Robinson as the No. 4 overall player in the 2024 cycle and the second-best cornerback.

He also holds offers from 20 schools, including Georgia, Florida State, Michigan, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Penn State and Texas A&M.

Robinson talked with Lettermen Row after his Ohio State offer, and the 6-foot defensive back said he is comfortable playing all over the secondary.

“I work on all aspects of being a complete corner,” Robinson said. “Technique is key. So when I say I can play inside and out I actually mean it.”

Ellis Robinson IV is one of the best players in the 2024 cycle

Ellis Robinson IV is one of three players to receive a grade of 91 from On3 in its initial 2024 watchlist with IMG Academy’s Desmond Ricks of IMG Academy and Cleveland Glenville’s Bryce West. Only 18 total players in the 2024 cycle received a grade of 91.

On3’s Director of Recruiting and Scouting Charles Power had high praise for all three cornerbacks.

“Ricks has shown a his skills as a starter at IMG as a sophomore and has excellent stature for the position at 6-foot-2,” Power said. “West caught our eye with his athleticism (10.91 100m) and ball skills. Robinson is a playmaker on both sides of the ball and dominates his competition in New York.”
