Alabama OL Naquil Betrand plans to enter NCAA transfer portal
Alabama offensive lineman Naquil Betrand plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett. He’ll have three years of eligibility left.
As a member of the Class of 2023, Betrand was a three-star recruit out of Philadelphia (Pa.) Northeast, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 19 overall prospect in the state, the No. 51 offensive tackle in the class and the No. 785 overall prospect in the class.
Betrand spent one season at Texas A&M in 2023 before transferring to Alabama. He’ll now look for the third school of his career.

So without Betrand, it’s business as usual for Kalen DeBoer and company. He also addressed any potential revenge factor against the Wolverines.
“There’s so many different pieces to this,” DeBoer said. “I get that and appreciate the question for sure. But, you know, I think this again, we’ve made it always about this team. That’s when we’ve been at our best, is when we really focus on just what it means to this program, this team. We go back to the Iron bowl. It wasn’t about anything external, it was about this group.
“And that’s what we will certainly keep it to, you know when it comes to getting ready for, you know, Michigan and the bowl game.”
