Alabama RB coach Robert Gillespie posts message to Jahmyr Gibbs following NFL decision
Former Georgia Tech and current Alabama running back Jahmyr Gibbs decided to declare for the NFL Draft following the Sugar Bowl. Shortly following that decision, Alabama running backs coach Robert Gillespie posted a message to Gibbs.
To do this, Gillespie quote tweeted Gibbs’ announcement on Twitter.
“So fortunate to be apart of your process. Our paths crossed out of high school and crazy that we were still able to hook up! Your best ball is ahead of you and The Gillespie Family can’t wait to watch,” Gillespie wrote.
Along with the note, Gillespie used a peace sign and a heart emoji
In his initial announcement, Jahmyr Gibbs referenced both Alabama and Georgia Tech. In the part of the message where he is speaking about Alabama, Gibbs references Gillespie, who he calls Coach G. He thanks Alabama for welcoming him to Alabama and giving him the opportunity to play at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
During his one season at Alabama, Jahmyr Gibbs had 926 yards rushing and seven touchdowns. On top of that, he was a great receiving threat, with 44 catches for 444 yards and three more touchdowns.
