OV Weekend Produces Two Commitments | Who's Next For Alabama?

Alabama’s summer recruiting roll continues.

On Tuesday, high four-star Carmel (Calif.) four-star offensive tackle Jackson Lloyd chose the Crimson Tide over Ohio State and USC. His commitment is the seventh in the month of June for Kalen DeBoer and Co., who have been a major heater after taking over in January.

The 6-foot-6, 280-pounder is a major rankings outlier, according to On3. In the most recent On300 rankings, he was tabbed as the No. 29 overall prospect nationally and No. 6 at the tackle spot. No other recruiting service ranks him as top-100 prospect.

He becomes the 12th blue-chip commitment in this class for the new Alabama regime, as they look to continue the streak of top-five recruiting classes set by Nick Saban and his staff from 2011-2024.

The addition of Lloyd is another major notch in the belt for the Bama staff. He and Flowood (Miss.) Hartfield Academy three-star defensive lineman London Simmons became the latest additions to the class, announcing their decisions with 48 hours of each other.

Eastman (Ga.) Dodge County four-star athlete Darrell Johnson headlines the class as the No. 43 overall prospect. Selma (Ala.) Southside four-star athlete Derick Smith is also a top-50 prospect.

Duncanville (Texas) four-star quarterback Keelon Russell flipped to the Tide from SMU on June 4 and is the No. 8 QB in the cycle. Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei four-star cornerback Chuck McDonald and Doylestown (Pa.) Central Bucks East four-star interior offensive lineman Michael Carroll also joined the fold in June.

Montgomery (Ala.) Carver four-star running back Anthony Rogers is a top-150 recruit and the No. 6 burner in the cycle. Saraland (Ala.) four-star defensive lineman Antonio Coleman flipped from Alabama to Auburn in December before returning his allegiances to Tuscaloosa in early March. Denton (Md.) North Caroline four-star athlete Zymear Smith and Los Angeles Mater Dei four-star linebacker Abduall Sanders joined Johnson, Derick Smith and Coleman in a very busy March for Bama recruiting.

Alabama also picked up Millville (N.J.) speedster receiver Lotzeir Brooks and Rome (Ga.) top-150 linebacker Jaedon Harmon in April.
