Alabama‘s tradition of eating something representing the weekly opponent appears to be ongoing, with the Crimson Tide roasting a hog ahead of this weekend’s contest against Arkansas.

Defensive back Jaylen Key posted a picture of the roasted hog to his Instagram account, which was then shared on Twitter by Nick Kelly, a beat writer for the Tuscaloosa News.

Check it out below.

Key clearly got a kick out of the fancy feast, tagging his Instagram post with the caption “Just Another Day In Tuscaloosa.” For Key, it’s at least the second time he has shared an extravagant meal on his social media channels.

This is at least the second week this season that the Alabama football program has served up a dish in honor of their upcoming opponent, too.

Earlier this season Alabama cooked alligator prior to a meeting with USF. Sure, the Bulls are not represented by an alligator, but the animal is pretty synonymous with the state of Florida, as things go. Close enough, right?

In any case, players certainly got a good kick out of it the first time around, too. Key captioned that post with “Folks got a whole gator in here,” followed by two laughing emojis.

Something tells us roasting a hog is a little more on the nose this week, with Arkansas on Saturday’s menu.

Alabama finding its biggest strengths

As the season has gone on Alabama has really come into its own. Following a loss to Texas, the team had a chance to reflect on what it really wants to be.

Everyone seems to have gotten the message.

“I think the biggest thing is just embracing our challenges, embracing all what comes with playing Alabama football,” quarterback Jalen Milroe said. “I think that’s the strength we have, just the positive mindset we all have no matter good, bad, or ugly.”

There’s been a little bit of each for Alabama so far this season. Managing to minimize the bad and the ugly has been the key.

Alabama is creeping closer toward that.

“It’s just a challenge to always have the right mindset,” Milroe said. “One thing, one motto that we have is just now mentality. The now mentality of what’s taking place right now, I think that’s a very big strength that we have as an offense and something we can always improve on.”

Say this: Alabama’s meal game certainly doesn’t need much improvement.
