Alabama WR Kobe Prentice expected to enter NCAA transfer portal
Alabama wide receiver Kobe Prentice is expected to enter the NCAA transfer portal, according to a report from On3’s Pete Nakos.
Prentice is a former top-100 recruit and has been a productive target for the Crimson Tide in the passing game. A junior, Prentice has seen his production drop in his first year under new coach Kalen DeBoer.
So far this season, Prentice has accounted for 11 catches for 129 yards and a touchdown.
In the two seasons prior to DeBoer’s arrival, Kobe Prentice had logged 49 catches for 651 yards and four touchdowns. He was a viable weapon in the offense, looking to make a big jump. Only it didn’t really materialize in his third year. Injuries certainly contributed to that, hampering him mid-season.
Still, Prentice is likely to be one of the top targets in the NCAA transfer portal in this cycle. He’s a weapon that can instantly upgrade the offense with his play-making ability.
Prior to enrolling at Alabama, Kobe Prentice was ranked as a four-star prospect and the No. 72 overall player in the nation in the 2022 recruiting class. He was also ranked as the No. 11 wide receiver in his class and the No. 5 overall player from the state of Alabama, hailing from Calera (AL) Calera.

DB Jahlil Hurley to enter transfer portal
Alabama safety Jahlil Hurley plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal. The 6-foot-2, 180-pound safety will have three years of eligibility remaining.
Hurley didn’t see any game action in 2023, but garnered plenty of hype on the recruiting trail. A product of Florence (Ala.), he was the No. 50 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
During the 2024 season, Hurley saw the field in nine games as a depth defensive back and on special teams. He finished the season with one tackle.
The transfer portal officially opens on Monday, Dec. 9, 2024. More than 2,800 FBS scholarship players entered their names into the NCAA’s transfer database during the 2023-24 school year. Removing those who withdrew or went pro, the final total sat at 2,707 transfers. That means roughly 25% of all FBS scholarship players hit free agency in one year.
