Clanton (Ala.) Chilton County School four-star linebacker DeMarcus Riddick surprised pretty much everyone when he committed to Georgia back in November.

But since they offered him in January, the Crimson Tide have been unrelenting in their pursuit of him. And it just might be paying off. On Wednesday, Alabama recruiting insider Joseph Hastings placed an expert prediction in favor of Alabama to flip Riddick away from the Bulldogs.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), the Tide now holds a 53.1 percent chance of flipping Riddick’s commitment.

“Alabama, they’re recruiting me really hard,” Riddick said earlier this month. “Bama, Auburn and Georgia are the main three right now, so far.”

He added that he remains committed to Georgia right now, but wants to make sure he is making the best decision ultimately.

“When I went in to commit, that’s where I wanted to go,” Riddick said. “That’s still where my mindset is, but at the same time, I want to keep my options open, keep my options open for other schools. I still have a great, great connection with the coaching staff and players (at Georgia) and I still have love for the school. That’s my No. 1 school for right now. At the same time, I’m still going to keep my options open and see where my heart tells me to go.”

The 6-foot-2, 210-pound Riddick is the No. 35 overall prospect in the 2024 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 4 linebacker and the No. 3 junior recruit in Alabama.
