Alabama WR Emmanuel Henderson plans to enter NCAA transfer portal
Alabama receiver Emmanuel Henderson plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, On3’s Hayes Fawcett reported Monday. Henderson spent the past three seasons with the Crimson Tide and will have one year of eligibility remaining.
The 6-foot-1 receiver appeared in every game this past season to finish with four catches for 82 yards. He also contributed as a kick returner with five returns for a total of 107 yards (21.4 average).
Henderson committed to Alabama in 2022 as a four-star athlete out of Geneva County (AL) High School. He ranked as the No. 44 overall player and No. 3 athlete in the cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Despite mostly working as a running back in high school, Henderson made the transition to receiver with the Crimson Tide. He appeared in 13 games as a true freshman to record one catch for 14 yards as well as three tackles on special teams.
In spite of his high recruiting ranking and the early promise he showed as a freshman, Henderson unfortunately suffered an injury that derailed the start to his sophomore season. He’s since struggled to grow into a larger role, but entering the transfer portal will give him an opportunity to find one elsewhere.

Emmanuel Henderson is the 15th Alabama player to enter the transfer portal. He joins fellow receivers Kobe Prentice and Kendrick Law as the Crimson Tide have lost a lot of depth at the position already.
The transfer portal officially opened Dec. 7 and will remain open until Dec. 28, though players on teams still playing in the postseason will get an additional five-day window to enter the portal after their seasons end.
