Former Alabama superstar Brandon Miller is expected to be one of the top five overall selections in the 2023 NBA Draft. While he’ll soon be filling his bank account with NBA riches, the electrifying small forward is still taking the time to cheer on his alma matter. On Wednesday evening, Miller was spotted taking pictures with Crimson Tide fans in Hoover, Alabama, the site of this year’s SEC Baseball Tournament.

Check out a picture of him and a young boy below.

Alabama was taking on the Florida Gators this afternoon in the SEC Tournament. That one started at 4:30 PM CST. The Crimson Tide baseball team has an overall record of 39-17 and an in-conference record of 16-14.

Many mock drafts out there currently have Miller slated to go No. 2 overall in the upcoming 2023 NBA Draft to the Charlotte Hornets.

After a breakout campaign with the Crimson Tide, Miller soared up NBA scouts’ lists, leading the team to the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament. Controversy surrounded Miller though. He was allegedly involved in a shooting in January with former teammate Darius Miles.

Miller averaged 19 points per game, over eight rebounds per game and shot 44% from the floor, including just a smidge under 40% from three-point range.

As a member of the Class of 2022, Miller was a five-star recruit out of Antioch (Tenn.) Cane Ridge, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He was the No. 1 overall prospect in the state, the No. 5 small forward in the class and the No. 14 overall prospect in the class.

Miller is projected to be a very high selection, more on the 2023 NBA Draft

The 2023 NBA Draft is set to take place on Thursday, June 22, 2023, in Brooklyn at Barclays Center. Round 1 of the draft will be announced by NBA Commissioner Adam Silver, while Deputy Commissioner Mark Tatum is expected to handle the second round of picks.

To be eligible for the NBA Draft, players must be at least 19 years in age during the calendar year that the draft is held and at least one NBA season from their high school graduation date, or the date that would have been if they are not graduated. It is not required that player spend that one year playing college basketball, though. Players can play in either college, abroad, or the G League Ignite if they choose so.

While this is a significant change from what the rules once were, players are eligible to enter their names into the NBA Draft pool and explore their options by hiring an agent to go through the process, while still keeping their college eligibility. The deadline to make that move is on April 23 beginning at 11:59 p.m. ET. Players have until June 12 at 5 p.m. ET to withdraw their name from the pool and return to college.
