Brandon Miller has turned into the storyline of college basketball for two different reasons. Recently being named the SEC Player of the Year, off-the-court problems have been a nightmare for Miller and everyone associated with the Alabama program. Unfortunately, they have traveled to Nashville as well at the SEC Tournament.

Fans have made themselves vocal at Bridgestone Arena, with the Vanderbilt faithful deciding to heckle Miller on Saturday. A “Brandon Killer” chant was broken out by one fan before another chimed in, claiming Miller was a murderer.

Based on the video, this seems to happen early in the day as most of the arena is empty. Alabama could have been warming up for the semifinal game against Missouri, while Vanderbilt followed against Texas A&M.

You can watch the full moment here.

Whether it’s right or wrong, these types of comments are going to follow Miller around. Especially if Alabama makes a deep NCAA Tournament run, the stories will continue to pour in. Questions during media sessions all week in Nashville have revolved around guns and different coaches being asked about their policies.

Miller has been in front of the media as well, speaking after being named the conference’s Player of the Year. He also spoke to ESPN’s Marty Smith after the win against Missouri on Saturday for a postgame interview. No matter how well he plays on the court, he will be asked questions surrounding the murder of Jamea Harris.

For now, Miller does not seem to be phased by the heckling. He is playing like his normal self in the SEC Tournament, averaging 19 points over two games thus far. While some Alabama players have struggled on the offensive end, Miller has been money for the Crimson Tide.

Miller will need to have a similar performance Sunday afternoon, going up against Texas A&M in the championship game.
