Brian Robinson Jr. reveals his favorite Alabama national championship game
Brian Robinson Jr. grew up watching the Alabama Crimson Tide play. The Tuscaloosa native has followed Nick Saban’s prestigious program all throughout his life, and now he’s playing a big role as the team’s primary running back heading into the College Football Playoff national championship game.
Robinson has put together a strong season for Alabama, having rushed for 1,275 yards and 14 touchdowns on 249 carries. The former On3 Consensus four-star recruit tallied 204 yards on 26 carries in the Crimson Tide’s 27-6 win over Cincinnati in the Cotton Bowl semifinal on New Year’s Eve.
Heading into next Monday’s national championship game between top-ranked Alabama and No. 3 Georgia, Robinson shared his memories of watching the Crimson Tide play as a kid growing up and chose his favorite national championship.
“Just watching Alabama play in national championships as a kid was like the biggest college football game you can watch,” Robinson said. “And anybody who truly loved football or just sports just loved watching their favorite team playing in national championship games.
“And the one game that probably stuck out to me the most was the first one I got a chance to watch. That was the game versus Texas in Pasadena, Mark Ingram Heisman year. That was the first time I got to see them play in a big game like that. And watching them dominate, that performance, it really stuck out to me.”

Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett: ‘I’m preparing my butt off’ for Alabama
Heading into Monday night’s game, Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett made it clear that he’s working hard to prepare for facing Alabama again. After completing 29-of-48 passes for 340 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions in his last outing against the Tide, it’s no secret that Bennett would like to clean up his play some – especially in the national championship game.
“I’m just treating it as another game and I’m preparing my butt off, and everybody on this team is,” Bennett said. “But the reason we’re doing that is because we respect the heck out of Alabama and the team they are. And we know we’ll have to give it our best shot to win this game.”
