Brian Robinson sidelined with injury against Auburn
Alabama running back Brian Robinson ripped off a 37-yard run in the fourth quarter, but he did not get down the field unscathed.
After a tackle, he got up hoping on one foot and went into the medical tent. It was his second issue with an injury of the day, as he injured his foot earlier in the game before returning.
Robinson remains on the sideline with his ankle wrapped, and Trey Sanders took over for him, per Charlie Potter. Sanders had three consecutive runs, which set up a 30-yard field goal. The drive was made possible by an interception by cornerback Josh Jobe.
Auburn leads Alabama 10-3 midway through the fourth quarter, and the Tigers defense is dominating the game. They have sacked Alabama quarterback Bryce Young seven times.
The Tide have not won at Jordan-Hare Stadium since 2015.
If Alabama cannot come back, they will get their second loss of the season. Even if Alabama were to beat Georgia next weekend in the SEC title game, a two-loss team has never made the College Football Playoff.
Running back woes continue for Tide
Alabama is already very short on running backs. Last week ahead of a game against Arkansas, Alabama head coach Nick Saban commented on the thin running back room.
In town for the game, CBS commentator Brad Nessler joined Saban and host Eli Gold for “Hey Coach & the Nick Saban Show” and posed a question to Saban.

“Have you ever had this thin of a group because of attrition or injuries?” Nessler asked.
“No,” Saban responded without any hesitation. “Never. Never.”
Alabama was already missing backs Jase McClellan and Camar Wheaton prior to the game against New Mexico State, and they lost Roydell Williams for the rest of the season to a knee injury against the Aggies. As a result of the injuries, the Crimson Tide have been training other players to play the position in the event something happens to Robinson or Sanders.
“We knew every player and what positions they played in high school,” Saban said. “All the guys that we are training to be running backs from other positions were guys that played that position in high school or had some background in playing that position at some point in time.”
Alabama has worked on training linebacker Demouy Kennedy and receiver Christian Leary. Neither has carried the ball against Auburn.
