Bryce Young cancels remaining pre-NFL Draft visits

Ahead of the 2023 NFL Draft, Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Bryce Young has canceled all of his remaining pre-draft visits with teams, according to Tom Pelissero.

The reason for doing this is unclear. However, it’s being speculated that this is because Bryce Young already knows that he’s going to be the first overall pick by the Carolina Panthers. So, taking other visits would be a waste of his time.

Young has already visited the Carolina Panthers and the Houston Texas, who have the top two picks in this year’s NFL Draft.

During his time at Alabama, Bryce Young proved to be one of the best quarterbacks in all of college football. He won the 2021 Heisman Trophy and threw for 8,356 yards, 80 touchdowns, and only 12 interceptions in 31 games.

The only real critique of Young has been his size, which has led to concerns about his durability at the NFL level.

One NFL legend, Peyton Manning, loves Bryce Young. He even recently compared Young to one of the best players in the game today — Joe Burrow.

“Talking to real scouts, Burrow is the guy that comes to mind. Because of the sixth sense in the pocket. The decision making, processing information quickly, and I’m not saying Bryce is going to have that same success as Joe right away, but I think the instincts that Joe has, that Bryce has. The ability to beat the coverage keeps a lot of plays alive. I love [this play] knowing he’s about to get hammered,” Manning said.

“Throws one right in there. Joe’s not afraid to hold that ball to the last minute until somebody comes open. Nice touch there. Yeah, I mean, recognition, processing instincts. You see a little bit of Joe Burrow in Bryce Young.”

Archie Manning raved about Bryce Young

Peyton Manning isn’t the only quarterback from the Manning family who loves Bryce Young. Archie Manning also raved about the young signal caller.

“Bryce is, we had him here in New Orleans last year he won the Manning Award, he’s the coolest customer on the field. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone that is just so calm, so cool, goes about his business, does his job, never gets rattled, he’s just fun to watch, absolutely,” Manning said.

“Now he got nicked up a little bit last year, it hurt Alabama a little bit when he was not 100%. He came back, he played well.”
