Christian Miller spent the 2023 season working for the Crimson Tide Sports Network, serving as a sideline reporter. Giving updates from the field or interviewing Nick Saban heading into halftime was the highlight of the job, being one radio listeners enjoyed during Alabama games.

There will be a change at the position, though. Miller released a statement on Thursday to announce his role with the network would be scaled back due to “various commitments” in his life. While Miller is excited to watch Alabama in 2024, he will not be on the broadcast as often.

“Returning to The Capstone to be a part of this incredible team and tradition has been one of the greatest honors,” Miller said. “I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to have shared the sidelines with some of the most talented and dedicated individuals in the game of football, both as a player and as a reporter.

“The experience hasn’t only enriched my career in broadcasting but has also allowed me to reconnect with the passionate Alabama fan base that truly makes this program so special. In light of various commitments, I’d like to announce that I will be scaling back my role with CTSN for the upcoming football season.”

Earlier on Thursday, CTSN announced former Alabama running back Damien Harris will be taking over the role after his NFL career. Miller could not be more thrilled for Harris, one of his former teammates, to take over the job, and believes he will do a great job.

“I am thrilled to pass the torch to my former teammate and fellow team captain, Damien Harris,” Miller said. “Damien brings a wealth of knowledge, enthusiasm, and insight to this role, and I have no doubt that he will excel as the next sideline reporter. Damien was not only a tremendous athlete and leader here in Tuscaloosa but also someone who truly understands what it means to be a part of the Alabama Football family.

“I have no doubt that he will bring the same passion and dedication to this role that he brought to the field. His commitment to the game and deep connection to the Alabama Football community make him the perfect person to take on this responsibility.”
