On3 4-star CB CJ Blocker visiting Alabama

New Caney (Texas) four-star cornerback CJ Blocker is visiting Alabama this weekend for the Crimson Tide’s rivalry game against Auburn. He announced the news hours after backing off his pledge to Utah.

Blocker is the No. 450 overall prospect and No. 46 cornerback in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 72 player in Texas.

On3 rates Blocker higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2023 On300, he is the No. 298 overall prospect, No. 35 cornerback and No. 52 player in Texas.

Alabama will not be Blocker’s only visit in the next few weeks. He is also taking officials to TCU and USC before making his decision, according to On3’s Sam Spiegelman.

The 5-foot-10.5, 160-pound defensive back currently holds 15 offers. However, Alabama has not extended one.

Nick Saban and his staff currently have one cornerback commit in the Crimson Tide’s 2023 recruiting class, which ranks No. 1 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings. Florence (Ala.) four-star Jahlil Hurley, who chose Alabama on Feb. 22, is the No. 34 overall prospect in the On3 Consensus.

Blocker has an On3 NIL Valuation of $14.8K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
