Colorado linebacker transfer Nikhai Hill-Green has committed to Alabama, he told On3’s Hayes Fawcett. Hill-Green is not a stranger to the transfer process, having three previous stops in his career. His final one is Tuscaloosa as he will play for head coach Kalen DeBoer.

Before arriving in Boulder to play for head coach Deion Sanders, Hill-Green had stops with Michigan and Charlotte. The 2024 season was easily the most productive of his career, recording 82 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, two sacks, four pass deflections, and two interceptions. All of this was good enough to see him be named second-team All-Big 12.

Hill-Green fills a major position of need for Alabama, potentially losing both of the team’s top middle linebackers. Deontae Lawson was lost for the season against Oklahoma due to injury but is still a candidate to leave the program for the 2025 NFL Draft.

Jihaad Campbell is certainly heading to the next level, potentially even being a first-round pick. Alabama has relied on those two guys in the first year DeBoer and a gap is there in the middle of the defense without them.

Finding an all-conference player from the Big 12 is certainly a good way to find a replacement. Hill-Green will take another step up in competition, facing SEC teams on a weekly basis. If he is up for the task, the Crimson Tide will feel like they have hit a home run out of the NCAA transfer portal.

Alabama lands commitment from Texas A&M transfer OL Kam Dewberry

Former Texas A&M offensive lineman Kam Dewberry has committed to transfer to Alabama, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

The 6-foot-4, 320-pound Dewberry has one season of collegiate eligilibility remaining and could help fill a pending void in the middle of a Crimson Tide offensive line that will likely lose junior left guard Tyler Booker to the NFL this offseason. Booker is widely considered a potential first-round NFL Draft pick.

As a member of the Class of 2022, Dewberry was a four-star recruit out of Atascocita (Humble, Tex.) Highaccording to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. Dewberry was the No. 63 overall prospect in the 2022 recruiting class, No. 4 interior offensive lineman overall, and No. 11 player in Texas. He chose Texas A&M over offers from TexasOklahomaOhio State and LSU.
