Alabama DL Anquin Barnes intends to enter NCAA transfer portal

Alabama defensive lineman Anquin Barnes intends on entering the NCAA transfer portal, per Matt Zenitz of 247 Sports. Barnes has spent the past three seasons in Tuscaloosa but will find somewhere else to finish out his college career.
Barnes got playing time for the first time this season, making two appearances against nonconference opponents Middle Tennessee State and Chattanooga. His first two years on campus did not result in any on-field action, taking a redshirt as a true freshman.
Whoever wins up landing Barnes out of the portal will have at least two years of eligibility remaining. The potential is clearly there for the defensive lineman. Once officially in the portal, there should be plenty of suitors waiting to contact him.
Barnes played high school football at Montgomery (AL) Robert E. Lee, where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 357 overall recruit in the 2021 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
