Alabama releases Week 1 depth chart vs. Middle Tennessee State

To begin the game week against Middle Tennessee State, Nick Saban decided against releasing a depth chart. He claimed distractions arose in the Alabama locker room during the 2022 season when one was released. However, Saban has since gone back on his word and released a full depth chart before kickoff on Saturday via On3’s BOL.

Of course, the most interesting aspect to those on the outside is the quarterback battle. We know Jalen Milroe will be taking the first snap of the game. However, Alabama still has not officially named a starter through the depth chart. After Milroe, there are three guys listed with ‘OR’ next to them.

Secondary was an area where Alabama had a couple of position battles. Saban was happy with the players available to him but was attempting to find the right fit. Kool-Aid McKinstry was always going to be one of the starting cornerbacks but every other spot was up for grabs.

While we might have a depth chart, there is a good chance Saban does not stick to it exactly. Players are going to rotate in and out, especially against an opponent like Middle Tennessee State.
