Domani Jackson announces plans to return to Alabama for 2025 season
Alabama cornerback Domani Jackson has announced his intentions to return to the Crimson Tide for the 2025 season, he posted on Instagram Sunday.
“I want to stary by thanking my family. Without their love and support, I wouldn’t be where I am today,” Jackson wrote on Instagram. “To my Crimson Tide brothers — it’s been all love since day one and a blessing to share the locker room and field with y’all. I am honored to wear the crimson jersey #1 and represent the A. This season didn’t end how we wanted, and the JOB ISN’T FINISHED YET. I will be returning for the 2025 season to make my last one the best one…”
The 6-foot-1 Jackson was a Five-Star Plus+ recruit in the 2022 cycle, where he was the No. 5 overall recruit in the class and No. 1 cornerback, according to On3’s Industry Rankings, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. Jackson was also the No. 1 player in the state of California out of the famed Mater Dei (Santa Ana, Calif) High.
Jackson started all 12 games this past season, finishing fifth on the Crimson Tide with 52 tackles, to go along with two tackles for loss, two interceptions, seven pass breakups and one forced fumble.
Jackson was part of Alabama’s 2024 transfer class after spending his first two years at USC, where he started 11 games in the 2023 season for the Trojans, allowing 20 receptions for 411 yards and two touchdowns while adding 33 total tackles with three pass breakups.

The decision to return is a boom for the Alabama secondary, which will now have both starting cornerbacks Jackson and five-star freshman Zabien Brown back in 2025, in addition to backup freshmen defensive backs Jaylen Mbakwe and Zavier Mincey.
Alabama has already lost fifth-year senior safety Malachi Moore to the NFL Draft, as well as starting “Husky” DeVonta Smith to Notre Dame and backup safety King Mack to the NCAA Transfer Portal.
Jackson is just the latest Crimson Tide player to announce his decision to return.
Alabama linebacker Deontae Lawson announces return for 2025 season
Alabama Crimson Tide linebacker Deontae Lawson will return to Tuscaloosa for the 2025 season, he announced via Instagram on Saturday night. Linebacker may have been a position of question for Kalen DeBoer entering the offseason but a few guys coming back have quickly changed things.
Lawson is a big return for the program, being a true leader up the middle of the 2025 defense.
Lawson was a key figure in the Alabama defense for most of the 2024 season, playing middle linebacker. However, in the blowout loss to Oklahoma, Lawson suffered a significant leg injury. He was quickly ruled out for the rest of the year, missing the Iron Bowl vs. Auburn and the recent bowl game against Michigan.
