Elite 2024 tight end Caleb Odom of Carrollton (GA) High announced his commitment to Alabama Saturday night.

The 6-foot-6, 220 pounder chose the Crimson Tide over Texas A&M, Florida, and Ole Miss.

Odom on why he chose Alabama

“Honestly it was a place I saw myself being able to fit in at and being able to be developed easily. I built a great relationship with every coach on the staff, especially coach Cox. And the history of Bama is a big factor, the team is a dynasty and has a history of winning.”

Relationship with coaching staff + their plan for him

“I’m definitely closest to coach Cox for sure. He’s my position coach and he’s texting me everyday and even my mom. They plan on using me as a hybrid TE who can play in and out.”

Caleb Odom Scouting Summary

“Highly athletic, jumbo receiver with the upside to grow into a dangerous mismatch at tight end. Arguably the most skilled big pass-catcher in the 2024 cycle heading into the senior season. Checked in at listed at 6-foot-4, 220 pounds with good length for the position prior to his senior year. Starred as a receiver for one of the top high school programs in Georgia as a junior, helping Carrollton to a state title game.”

“A long-striding, bouncy athlete with explosive movements. Has the burst to run past defensive backs as an outside receiver. Shows the ability to high-point passes and make acrobatic grabs in jump ball situations. Has good pacing within his routes. Very productive, finishing his junior season with 64 catches for 1,121 yards and 13 touchdowns. Doubles as a big-time above-the-rim athlete in basketball. Has the best dunk reel we’ve seen from a 2024 prospect. Plays high level AAU basketball and is talented enough to play the sport at a high level in college. Has some ambiguity around his long-term position. Could end up as a top player as a receiver or tight end, but may be more unique as a mismatch at tight end at this stage.”

Odom ranks as the No. 60 player in the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also tabs in as the No. 4 tight end and the No. 11 player in the state of Georgia.

On3 ranks him higher than the industry, as he ranks as the No. 28 player nationally, the No.2 tight end, and the No. 4 player in Georgia.

The Peach State tight end joins coach Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide’s  top 5 class in the 2024 team rankings. He is accompanied by five-star quarterback Julian Sayin, five-star athlete Jaylen Mbakwe, and others.

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $112K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
