Elite DB Jahlil Hurley commits to Alabama
Jahlil Hurley has officially committed to Alabama. The 6-foot-2, 168-pound cornerback out of Florence, Ala. almost announced this decision a month ago, but held off to honor his mother on her birthday.
Auburn and Georgia were in the mix and Hurley said those two SEC schools gave him a lot to think about, but his mind has been set on the Crimson Tide for some time.
“I started feeling Alabama after my second visit there in the fall,” Hurley told On3. “I probably knew I was going to Alabama about two weeks later. In November, I really knew it was going to be Alabama.”
What Nick Saban has created in Tuscaloosa is sometimes referred to as a machine by the media. Hurley sees it as that.
“Alabama does everything at a high level. They are disciplined, they play hard, they practice hard, they have great players, and they just get the job done. Every year, Alabama has a great team and is coached by great coaches, and they do it all at a high level.”

Hurley feels at home at Alabama
The No. 23 prospect in the On3 Consensus has visited Tuscaloosa numerous times. He was there over the summer, then in the fall, and back for one more visit in January. It feels like home.
“Alabama is different. I have that feeling there. Everything has been consistent with them and I feel good there. It is not all about football with Alabama. They have made it about family and I am close with multiple coaches.
“They know me, they know my family, and Alabama is where I want to be.”
Hurley is the second Alabama commitment. Another highly-touted defensive back, Elliot Washington was first to commit. They get to play for Saban.
“Coach Saban is the GOAT,” Hurley said. “It means a lot to me to get to play for Alabama and coach Saban. Both are the best and to know they see the potential in me has me so excited about getting being part of the program.”
