Concord (Calif.) De La Salle tight end Cooper Flanagan has been committed to Notre Dame since September. But that hasn’t stopped other schools from recruiting him. The latest to get involved is none other than Alabama, which will look to win its second consecutive national championship on Monday.

The Crimson Tide extended an offer on Thursday night to Flanagan. The 6-foot-5, 220-pounder is the No. 210 prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 12 tight end and the No. 13 prospect in California in the cycle.

The Fighting Irish offered Flanagan in early August, and a month later, he chose Notre Dame over offers from Washington, California, Arizona and Colorado.

He is one of eight commits in the 2023 cycle for Notre Dame, which currently holds the No. 1 class in the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings. Alabama, meanwhile, has yet to add any prospects in next year’s class.
