4-star wide receiver Aaron Anderson commits to Alabama
New Orleans (La.) Edna Karr wide receiver Aaron Anderson is headed to Alabama, he announced on Friday night. He made the announcement during halftime of Edna Karr’s senior night game against Belle Chasse.
“I just wanted it to be a memory of my high school and my senior year,” Anderson said. ” … I made this decision based off of my relationship with Coach Orgeron at LSU. We had an agreement that if he left, I’d be taking my talent to Alabama.”
He added that the decision itself had been made for a while, but he decided to announce it tonight.
Anderson, the No. 103 overall player in the industry-generated On3 Consensus, decommitted from LSU on Oct. 18 after being committed to the Tigers for nearly a year. When he backed off his pledge, he told GSportz that the Tigers’ head coaching change had caused him to do so.

“I feel like it’s best for me to reopen my recruitment because Coach Orgeron was the main reason I committed to LSU,” Anderson said. “We had a special bond outside of football and he really made me feel like I was his family.”
He chose initially LSU over offers from Alabama, Florida State, Arkansas and others. The Crimson Tide remained in contact with him and reportedly made a big push in recent weeks to land him.
Aaron Anderson joins another loaded Alabama class
To no one’s surprise, Alabama had amassed another monster recruiting class in 2022. The Crimson Tide have the No. 1 overall class in the On3 team rankings, and they feature four consensus-five stars among their 18 commits. EDGE Jeremiah Alexander (No. 11 overall) leads Alabama’s 2022 crop, along with quarterback Ty Simpson (No. 28), offensive tackle Tyler Booker (No. 31), and running back Emmanuel Henderson (No. 31).
Aaron Anderson is Alabama’s second wide receiver commit in the class, joining four-star Kobe Prentice, the No. 150 overall player.
