Alabama lost a heartbreaker on Saturday, losing Game 1 to Wake Forest in the Winston-Salem Super Regional. They find themselves on the brink of elimination but will have to go again on Sunday. The Crimson Tide have their backs against the wall for the first time in the NCAA Tournament and will need a big response.

While storylines about the game are sure to come, we first needed a start time. First pitch from David F. Couch Ballpark will take place at 12 p.m. ET (local time) but 11 a.m. CT for those watching in Tuscaloosa. That’s when Saturday’s game was originally planned to begin before a non-game-related emergency took place.

As for the television information, that has not been revealed. We do know one of the family of ESPN channels (including ESPN+) will be the eventual destination.

Wake Forest one win away from College World Series

Just one win separates Wake Forest from a spot in the College World Series. A year’s worth of hard work could come to fruition, hoping to put together some travel plans to Omaha.

While it would be a third-ever CWS appearance for the program, it would be the first one in a long, long time. You have to go back to 1955 to when Wake Forest was last involved. They did win the national championship that season — being the only one in their history.

The other came in 1949, where they finished as runner-ups. If Wake Forest is going to have a run in them, they apparently plan on being one of the final two teams remaining.

Caden Rose believes Alabama, Wake Forest are two best teams in the country

By definition, the NCAA Tournament selection committee viewed Wake Forest as the best team in the country this season. They were given the No. 1 overall seed, theoretically having the easiest path to winning a national championship.

However, Alabama surely has something to say about that. In fact, they believe they are right up there will the Demon Deacons.

Crimson Tide outfielder Caden Rose believes Alabama and Wake Forest are the two best teams in the country at the moment. Only one can advance out of the Winston-Salem Super Regional but according to Rose, nobody besides those two are playing better baseball at the moment.

“This is the two best teams in the country going at it right now,” Rose said. “I don’t care how they have us ranked — these are the best two teams in the country slugging it out.”
