Henry To’o To’o has never been one to back down from a challenge, and LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels presents a huge one this weekend.

Ahead of Alabama taking on the Tigers in Death Valley, To’o To’o broke down how the Crimson Tide will defend the dual-threat quarterback.

“They’re two totally different guys. Two guys that can do the same thing,” stated To’o To’o, regarding the comparison between Daniels and Arkansas quarterback KJ Jefferson. “But I feel like Jayden is a really elusive guy. He’s so fast, he’s like a running back. So quick in and out of his cuts, and he can throw the ball too. Jayden’s going to be a huge problem for us this weekend, being able to scheme for him and tackle him in space, but super excited about him.

“He’s definitely one of those quarterbacks you’ve got to prepare for. You’ve got to tackle well, you’ve got to practice well to go up against guys like that. But we’ve got a great scout team that’ll prepare us for him, and we’re going to be ready for this week.”

On the season thus far, the former Arizona State star turned Tigers quarterback has passed for 1,812 yards and 12 touchdowns to just one interception. Meanwhile, Daniels has also added 524 rushing yards and nine rushing touchdowns on 113 carries as well.

Indisputably, Jayden Daniels will be a tough player to stop for Henry To’o To’o and the Crimson Tide, but it could be the difference between finding victory or being upset in a tough environment.

Saban and Alabama are gearing up for a trip to Baton Rouge to take on the Tigers for their rivalry game, and Saban acknowledged the strides LSU has taken this year. The Tigers have only lost one SEC game — against now-No. 1 Tennessee — and picked up a huge upset win over Ole Miss last week.

Now, LSU has another test with No. 6 Alabama coming to town. Saban knows the challenge at hand as he had some high praise for the Tigers.

“They got good players. Really good players,” Saban said Wednesday. “Quarterback’s playing really, really well. They’ve got great balance, they’ve got three really good running backs that all share the load. They’ve really got talented skill guys out side. They’re very efficient and effective in the way they’re executing the offense and the things that they do, and they present challenge. I think they’ve got some young players playing on offense that have gotten better and better and better. Two freshmen tackles, tight end, Jason Taylor’s son. Those guys are playing better and better all the time, too, and making plays and end up being very productive.

“This is a really, really good team all the way around. Now, they’re starting a new system offensively, lots of new players. They’re starting to get confidence and believe [in] exactly what they’re supposed to do and how they’re supposed to do it. They’re playing really effectively.”
