Henry To'oTo'o explains what he has learned about Alabama culture
Henry To’oTo’o knew the culture at Alabama was strong while he was playing against the Crimson Tide with the Tennessee Volunteers. However, since transferring to Alabama, To’oTo’o has learned some valuable lessons about the culture of the program.
In a press conference, To’oTo’o explained what he’s gathered about the Alabama culture thus far during his time at Tuscaloosa.
“Definitely the hard work that comes within this place. That comes within this building,” answered To’oTo’o regarding Alabama’s culture. “It kind of reminds me of my high school. I played at De La Salle High School, and it’s a tradition, it’s a culture. So, that’s obviously one of the huge things that I’ve learned here. The hard work, the grind that goes into every single day.
“It’s not something that you just wake up and Alabama’s going to be good every single day. You know, it’s definitely the hard work, the dedication. Practice, film. And obviously our coach is doing a tremendous job of preparing us to be the best that we can.”
It’s no wonder why Henry To’oTo’o has fit like a glove with Alabama. The former Tennessee linebacker is everything Nick Saban could want in a linebacker and more. Moving forward, it’s easy to see why To’oTo’o is taking on a larger leadership role with the Crimson Tide.

In a press conference following Alabama’s third spring practice, Saban noted several of the players who have stood out to him in the early going.
“We have four guys back from our leadership group last year and we’ve added one,” the coach said. “Henry (To’oTo’o)’s been a really, really good leader, Jordan Battle has been a really good leader. We added DJ Dale to the leadership group because he emerged as a leader in the offseason program. Bryce (Young) has been a really good leader and affected a lot of people in a positive way and has developed more and more of a presence as his confidence has grown to be more assertive and to get other players to do the things they need to do to be successful.”
As you can see, Nick Saban believes wholeheartedly in To’oTo’o. The legendary Alabama coach is putting him up on a pedestal with the best the Crimson Tide have to offer.
Alabama will get the chance to show off what it has been working on to Nick Saban and the rest of the Crimson Tide faithful in its annual spring game set for April 16. After that, the Crimson Tide won’t be back in action until their season opener on Sept. 3 against Utah State.
