Ja'Corey Brooks hauls in impressive touchdown catch during Alabama practice
Spring practice is in full swing for college football programs across the country and that means that die-hard fans can find a way to get their fix with updates and highlights from their respective teams. The Alabama Crimson Tide are just a few weeks away from “A Day”, their annual spring game, and a few players have made some spectacular highlight plays recently in practice. Wide receiver Ja’Corey Brooks hauled in an impressive touchdown grab on Thursday in one-on-one drills. It was a beautifully placed ball in the back left corner of the end zone by quarterback Jalen Milroe.
Check it out below.
Brooks did an excellent job to catch the pass right over the helmet of the defensive back, Ga’Quincy “Kool-Aid” McKinistry. It was also a beautifully thrown spiral by Milroe with perfect placement in the back left corner of the end zone. He simply could not have thrown the football any better than he did.
The Katy, Texas native flashed his dynamic running ability against Arkansas and Texas A&M this season, when he combined to run for 172 total yards in those two games. Bryce Young suffered a shoulder injury against the Razorbacks, which forced Milroe into action. With Young off to the NFL this spring, Milroe will compete with Ty Simpson this offseason for the starting job under center for the Crimson Tide.
Brooks had a breakout game in the 2022 season against the Vanderbilt Commodores, hauling in six catches for 117 receiving yards and two touchdowns–the receiving yards and touchdowns were both career-highs. His six catches also matched a career-high for the Florida native.
