Jahmyr Gibbs provides his thoughts on Alabama's 'cheetah' pass-rush package

Jahmyr Gibbs shares the same feelings as the rest of the Alabama offense — they’re happy they only have to see the Crimson Tide’s “cheetah package” in practice.
To illustrate, Nick Saban’s squad has deployed a pass-rushing package named after the fierce jungle cat, featuring outside linebackers Will Anderson, Dallas Turner and Chris Braswell. Against Texas A&M last weekend, the trio made their biggest impact of the season, combining for seven tackles, three sacks, four tackles for loss and 12 quarterback hurries
The combination of size, speed and strength on the field is an opponent’s nightmare, and something many have theorized Alabama will utilize heavily against Tennessee this weekend. Prior, Gibbs provided his thoughts on the package during a press conference.

“I see it all the time actually,” Gibbs responded, asked if he ever sees the “cheetah package” in practice. “It puts a lot of speed on the filed, so when you try to run out of the pocket they can chase you down. It’s a good advantage for us.”
Indisputably, Alabama will be elated to have an abundance of speed on both sides of the football — Jahmyr Gibbs on offense, and the “cheetah package” on defense. In the end, it could be the difference between a win and a loss against the Volunteers this weekend.

Nick Saban on Jahmyr Gibbs: ‘Leader of the pack’
In Alabama’s win over Texas A&M, Jahmyr Gibbs suffered an injury. He went into the injury tent but was later able to return to the game. Nick Saban said that he’ll be okay and praised him as a player.
“The guy is a really good runner, he does a great job of stretching plays on the perimeter and sticking his foot in the ground, making cuts and setting up blocks for the offensive line. I thought there was a couple of times that they did a good job on defense overloading some things and taking some things away, but I know he had a ton of yards. We ran the ball statistically fairly well in the game, which is what we had to do to win the game. And he certainly was the leader of the pack,” Nick Saban said.
“He’s also a very talented receiver. They called timeout when we were on empty and he was uncovered and we thought we probably would have made a big play, but we just hope that he can continue to improve and we can continue to improve as an offense and get more guys like him to make plays on offense.”
