Former Georgia Tech running back Jahmyr Gibbs was one of the most coveted transfer prospects in the transfer portal during the 2022 offseason. In the A-Day game today, he showed the nation exactly why. The homerun hitting tailback showed off his electrifying speed in the open field and ripped off a 75-yard touchdown run.

Check it out below.

Gibbs has electrifying speed in the open field and he’s going to be a massive, massive problem for defenses this fall. He did serious damage when he suited up for Georgia Tech last fall and he’s going to be even more lethal when paired with one of the best quarterbacks in America in Bryce Young. Not to mention he’ll have the Alabama offensive line blocking for him.

Ever since he set foot on campus in Tuscaloosa a few months ago, there has been serious buzz around Jahmyr Gibbs and his playmaking ability in practice. He’s poised for a big-time season this fall, there’s no question about that. Last season for Georgia Tech, he rushed 143 times for 746 yards, while scoring four touchdowns on the ground. As a receiver, he hauled in 36 catches for 470 receiving yards (13.1 yards per catch) and two touchdowns.

Truly, it’s almost unfair to give Alabama such a dynamic weapon on the offensive side of the football. He’s going to be a nightmare to defend and it’ll be exciting to watch him gash opposing teams this fall. Gibbs’ odds to win the Heisman Trophy currently sit at 45-1, per vegasinsider.com. It’s not a stretch at all to think that the former Georgia Tech star could bring home the most coveted individual hardware in all of college football.

As a high school prospect, Gibbs was rated as the No. 8 running back prospect in America, according to the On3 Consensus Rankings for the 2020 recruiting class. When he signed with Georgia Tech coming out of high school, he was one of the highest rated recruits ever to suit up for the Yellow Jackets.
