Jalen Milroe's father gets into verbal confrontation with Tennessee fans at Neyland Stadium

It was not a pretty scene on the field for Alabama for much of the game on Saturday, an eventual 24-17 loss to Tennessee. And there were some ugly scenes off it, including one involving Jalen Milroe’s father, Quentin Milroe.

While in the stands at Neyland Stadium, evidently some Tennessee fans said something that riled up the elder Milroe. In a short clip shown on social media, he can be heard delivering a few expletives before walking away from the ordeal.

“I don’t care who you are, that’s my son,” Quentin Milroe appeared to say before finishing his message. “F*** you and her.”

Jalen Milroe finished Saturday’s game 25-for-45 passing with 239 yards and a touchdown, and two interceptions, including on that sealed the win for Tennessee late.

There was more discontent for Alabama after the loss

For the second time in three years, Alabama is on the wrong side of the Third Saturday in October. Offensive struggles were the headline this year, not getting much going against Tennessee. Just one passing touchdown came from Milroe, being thrown to Ryan Williams.

Another true freshman wide receiver, Caleb Odom, was not happy with how things unfolded in Knoxville. He reposted a few things on X/Twitter criticizing the coaching staff, potentially on the play where Milore threw an interception in the end zone.

Milroe targeted Williams on the play but the posts Odom reposted were confused as to why he was not on the receiving end. Not unusual to see fans calling out coaching decisions on social media but not too often do we see players voice those opinions too.

Odom finished the game without a reception. Just five Alabama receivers caught a ball from Milroe, with Williams being the leading guy at eight catches for 73 yards and a touchdown. Clearly, there is frustration from the young player amid the second loss of the season.

Looking at the entire season, Odom has just five catches for 45 yards. Wide receiver has not been a position of strength for the Crimson Tide this season outside of Williams. Nobody has stepped up as a consistent No. 2 for Milroe, bringing a lot of questions for head coach Kalen DeBoer.

Odom played high school football at Carrollton (GA) High School, where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 54 overall recruit in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Alabama will be back on the field Saturday, facing off against another ranked opponent in Missouri. Bouncing back in Tuscaloosa is a must, no matter who is getting targeted.
